5th World Forum of Sociology

n the , held from July 6 to 11, 2025, at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Mohammed V University, Rabat, under the theme Knowing Justice in the Anthropocene.
Thanks to the exemplary partnership between the International Sociological Association (ISA) and the Moroccan Sociological Association (IMS), our faculty became a global hub for the social sciences, welcoming over 4,500 researchers from more than 100 countries.
With 67 ISA research committees and thematic groups, the forum hosted over 1,300 sessions addressing pressing global challenges and highlighting the essential need to incorporate Southern perspectives into global debates.
I had the pleasure of contributing to sessions on both specific topics in the sociology of education and broader transversal themes in the social sciences. I also presented a paper titled:
“Migration, Multiculturalism, and Inclusive Education in Morocco: An Analysis of the Social Dimensions of Public Policy.”
Additionally, together with my PhD student, Nihal Lamdaghri, we co-led a panel on:
“The Sociological Dimensions of Africanization and Internationalization in Higher Education: Implications for Policy, Pedagogy, and Community Engagement.”
I leave this forum deeply inspired by the richness of the exchanges, the quality of the discussions, and the shared commitment to making the social sciences a powerful tool for justice and transformation in today’s world.
