I recently had the enriching opportunity to take part in an international academic mobility program in Italy, within the framework of growing university cooperation between Morocco and Italy. Some key highlights:
🇮🇹 Vercelli – University of Eastern Piedmont
As part of the official mission to launch a university and scientific cooperation project between the Faculty of Educational Sciences (Mohammed V University, Rabat – Morocco) and the Faculty of Letters, Languages and Philosophy (University of Piedmont Oriental – Italy), I accompanied our Dean Professor Kidai Abdellatif and we had the honor of: ✅ Meeting with Prof. Menico Rizzi, President of the University of Eastern Piedmont
✅ Holding working sessions with Prof. Michele Mastroianni, Dean of the Faculty, and his team, focusing on mobility projects for students, PhD candidates and researchers
✅ Presenting the Faculty of Educational Sciences to Italian students – a great moment of academic dialogue
📍 Padova – University of Padua
I was pleased to deliver a talk entitled:
“Revising Islamic Education Curriculum in Morocco: Between Religious Fundamentals and the Demands of Globalization”,
as part of the International Master in Religion, Politics and Global Society.
It was a joy to meet and interact with a brilliant cohort of international students, many of whom came from Morocco.
🏛️ The visit was also an opportunity to explore with Vice Dean Professor Derkaoui the Department of Sociology and the iconic Palazzo del Bo — a mythical space where the intellectual legacy of the University of Padua, one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious universities, continues to inspire. Walking the same halls once frequented by Galileo Galilei is truly a humbling experience.
🌫️ Venice – A Timeless Encounter
The journey wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Venice, the floating city of mystery and wonder. Walking through its labyrinthine alleys, crossing its countless bridges, and watching life unfold from a gondola offers a surreal experience suspended in time.
These exchanges reaffirm the vital role of academic mobility, and intercultural dialogue in shaping the future of global higher education.
🙏 Heartfelt Thanks
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our guests Moroccan and Italiens colleagues and institutions who made this experience possible. Professors Mastroianni and Busca, Professors Khalid Rhazzali and Mona Allali. Their outstanding professionalism, coupled with exceptional human warmth, created an inspiring and welcoming environment that elevated every moment of this mobility. Thank you for embodying the true spirit of international academic cooperation.
